   Fu-Shin Yu, Ph.D.

Director of Research

His research focuses on
molecular regulation of corneal
wound healing, corneal
infection and inflammatory
response in the cornea.

Robert N. Frank, M.D.

His research focuses on retina
cells that are implicated in the
problems associated with Diabetic
Retinopathy and Age Related
Macular Degeneration.

Raymond Iezzi, M.D.

His research focuses on artificial vision for helping the visually impaired through a microscopic implant in the retina or the brain.

 Gabriel Sosne, M.D.

Dr. Sosne and his research
team study the corneal repair
and anti-inflammatory properties
of thymosin beta 4.

Renu Kowluru, Ph.D.

Her research focuses on
oxidative stress and its relation
to Diabetic Retinopathy.

Akio Yamazaki, Ph.D.

Investigating: Signal Transduction or
how light signals change in the retina
to neural signals in the brain.

Bruce Berkowitz, Ph.D.

His research is aimed at preventing
vision loss and blindness due to diabetic
 retinopathy by using prognostic functional
MRI biomarkers that detect the effectiveness
of a treatment earlier in the course of disease
 than is currently possible.
